About Firoozeh

Firoozeh Raeesdana is an Iranian singer, kamancheh player, songwriter and improviser, based in France since 2023. She completed the six-year course at the Tehran Music School (National Music Conservatory of Tehran), and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Music, specialising in kamancheh performance, from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Tehran.Her artistic practice is rooted in Persian music and shaped by the interplay of singing, kamancheh playing and improvisation. Over the past two decades, her work has included collaborations on film and television projects as a musician, backing vocalist, and assistant to composer Omid Raiesdana as well as music design and kamancheh performance for theatre and puppetry productions. She also has experience as a mezzo-soprano in choir, along with many years of teaching music to both children and adults.Throughout her professional career, and particularly since moving to France, one of her central artistic priorities has been to develop her experience through live performance. Firoozeh has performed in Iran and internationally as a singer and kamancheh player, taking part in numerous concerts and musical and performance projects. One of her most important experiences on stage in France was performing for approximately 145 nights in Femmes Persanes, directed by Bartabas at Théâtre équestre Zingaro, where she appeared as the kamancheh player and the production’s only solo singer.In recent years, her international work has continued through a diverse range of music, theatre and performance projects. In 2025 and 2026, she performed as a singer and performer in Honda Romance, created, written and directed by Vimala Pons. Situated at the intersection of theatre, performance and music, the production continues its European tour throughout the 2026–2027 season.In summer 2026, Firoozeh performed as a singer and kamancheh player alongside Waed Bouhassoun and Jordi Savall, the prominent Spanish artist and musician, as part of the projects of the Festival Jordi Savall, performing in France and CataloniaHer work in film music has also extended beyond Iran. In 2026, Firoozeh contributed vocals to the score of Roma Elastica, directed by Bertrand Mandico, with music by Pierre Desprats.As a vocalist, Firoozeh continues to develop her lyric vocal skills while further expanding her longstanding knowledge and practice of Persian singing under the guidance of Parissa, one of Iran’s most distinguished Persian classical singers.
